Charlotte Area Food Allergy Resources
We want to be sure all of our PAK members are aware of the No Nuts Moms Group of Charlotte. This group is a well needed addition to our community, as they are hosting playgroups throughout our area! Here is a little something about each of us so you can see how our two groups can supplement each other…
The No Nuts Moms Group of Charlotte hosts playgroups and parent get togethers all around our area through an online forum... https://www.facebook.com/groups/nonutsmomscharlotte/ They are scheduling playgroups in the Tega Cay, SC area and Cornelius right now! The best thing is that you have the opportunity to schedule an event in your area, whether it be University, South Charlotte, Indian Trail, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, anywhere in the Charlotte and surrounding areas! We are working closely with the leader, Jessica Sheena. If you are interested in attending playgroups or if you have any questions, email Jessica at NNMGCharlotte@gmail.com and check out their Facebook forum.
Parents of Allergic Kids is the Charlotte regional support group that hosts educational meetings on topics such as research updates, asthma, epinephrine training, parent get togethers, advocacy projects, i.e. working with local school boards to create anaphylaxis and allergy protocols, nurses in schools, epinephrine legislation, and community outreach. We have a board of medical advisers that assist us in these endeavors. Our online forum is https://www.facebook.com/pak.charlotte where we can connect you to our private discussion group “PAK Charlotte Members” so you have the comfort of chatting with other parents dealing with severe allergies in a closed forum.
We are fortunate to have these wide variety of options in our area, so please take advantage of them all.
With thanks for all of your support over the years,
PAK Charlotte Coordinators
