Lunchbox Makeover with Kathy Thornburg will be on August 27, 10 – 11 am Southbrook Church 5607 Weddington Rd, Weddington, North Carolina 28104 A fresh look at packing kid’s meals! Kathy Thornburg (local blogger) will be sharing ideas for presenting food in new ways and sharing the coolest products to track down to make lunches easy and fun.  Multiple giveaways during the event for those who attend!  This event is FREE and open to the community. PAK YOGA NIGHT! Friday, September 16, 7pm-8pm at Be Yoga, Carmel location, 7510 Pineville Matthews Rd, Ste 2B, Charlotte, North Carolina 28226 This event was made possible through a community award from Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE).  Tracy Mott with BeYoga will be leading a workshop to enable our families to deal with today’s stresses. The workshop will include yoga poses, breath work, guided meditation, and reflection. Participants will feel refreshed with the tools to use in every day life. This is for all families living with allergies, parents, siblings welcome to participate (Kindergarten age and up). Please bring your own mat or towel. To attend: Please mail your name and ages of all attending to: Parents of Allergic Kids, PO Box 1634 Indian Trail, NC 28079.  A donation of 5$ per family is requested but not required. (checks payable to Parents of Allergic Kids)

Reminder to sign up for the upcoming workshop series for the youth of PAK, ages 8 - 17. This project was made possible through a community award from Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE). It will be run by Jon Eccleston, LCSW from Carolinas Therapy Solutions.

The workshops will cover all aspects of dealing with a severe allergy diagnosis in an age appropriate manner. Topics to be covered but are not limited to: stress, anxiety, dealing with friends, schools, outside activities, autoinjector management and the like.

You do not have to commit to all sessions. You can fill out the form with the dates that work best for your family.

The workshops will be held at the Waverly office of Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center located at 11933 Providence Road, Charlotte 28277 (GPS location).

The sessions will be held as follows (all dates/times are subject to change)-

9/15/16 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

10/20/16 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

11/17/16 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

12/15/16 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

1/19/17 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

2/16/17 6pm-7pm 8-12 year olds, 7pm-8pm 13-17 year olds

Dates for March, April and May will be determined in February 2017

Each session is $10 per child* made payable to Carolinas Therapy Solutions. Space is limited to 10 youth per session. In order to hold your spot for fall sessions, please fill out this form Workshop Sign up form

*If you are financially unable to pay the $10 fee, the FARE grant will enable your child to still attend. Please fill out the form with a note. All information will be kept confidential.
