This event is for the ENTIRE FAMILY! PAK is celebrating 10 years of our support group in the Charlotte region, connecting families with allergy and anaphylaxis, community outreach, education, and forming everlasting friendships.
Allergists from AAIR of Charlotte, Allergy & Asthma Care of Blakeney, Allergy & Asthma Center of Lake Norman, Asthma & Allergy Specialists, PA, Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center, Charlotte Medical Clinic- Allergy and Immunology, Family Allergy Asthma & Sinus Care will provide lectures and roundtable discussions with topics covering:
Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis 101, Diagnostic Testing, Debunking Myths, School Management, Nutrition and Healthy Substitutes, EoE, FPIES
Study updates from UNC Chapel Hill
Science of food allergy for all ages: for toddlers through high school
PAK Teen Council “Food Allergy Ambassadors”
Kidz Play Here providing games and staff
Be Yoga activities
Food allergy book readings, and so much more…
Volunteers and “food allergy ambassadors” will be on hand to assist with the younger children during the lecture portion of the afternoon. We will be in the Gymnasium and Family Room as we have a jammed packed fun afternoon of education and carnival activities. Stay tuned as we will post a formal agenda soon.
MESSAGE FROM TEEN COUNCIL:
We would like to pay it forward and do good things for some local charities and we need your help. The symposium/carnival is free but we are asking for donations as follows...
Ronald McDonald House Charlotte: We will have collection containers at the event on April 30th. All you have to do is bring your pennies and they will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. I will put a link for more information in the comments. A Child's Place: They need donations of Sunbutter/Wowbutter/any non nut type spread, they are asking for 100 jars and I know that we can do it! They also need nut free/top 8 free granola bars. You can also ask your schools, houses of worship etc to collect items also. All you have to do is collect them and bring them on April 30th! http://www.achildsplace.org
